Arduino Board Technology Program
An Arduino Board Technology Program Workshop was held here on April 19, 2017. The 9th, 10th, and 11th grades participated.
The technology team introduced high school students to write code for programming Arduino boards (which are the cutting edge of technology) by showing a short video. Students who are interested in technology would be excited to participate in the workshops.
Arduino boards are used in “smart” technology in an “internet of things.” Smart appliances, smart TV’s, smart security systems, all use Arduino boards to program them to do certain things. One of the things the students did during the workshop was to program LED lights to change color according to their programming.
This is an exploratory workshop instead of a lecture-based workshop. As the students worked through the instructions, the team members helped as needed. There were project checkpoints as the session went along. For students who had more experience with this sort of thing the project became more challenging. There was something for every level of experience for the students who participated, even those who had never written code for programming before.
The students truly enjoyed the workshop. The instructors were wonderful in their presentation and interactions with our students.
