New Wrinkles on Their Brains!

I can’t believe we are already halfway through the 2015/2016 school year!  The time has flown.  From High School Spanish to Middle School Science, History, and Reading/Journaling class, students are gaining new wrinkles on their brains.
This month I would like to highlight Spanish:
Students, staff, and parents have learned that high school Spanish is more complex than simple conversations.  Any adult that thinks back to their high school Spanish experience will most likely remember conjugating those verbs!  We now have new ways to connect on personal levels with our children….conjugating verbs. :)What a privilege it is to lead this next generation along the path that so many of us paved all those years ago.
In order to fully understand the structure of Spanish, one has to first understand the structure of English as many of the English terms, concepts and structures are also used in Spanish with a few exceptions.  I want to give a special shout out to Ms. Eva who comes to our class every Wednesday to review all lessons spoken entirely in Spanish.  I think that both of us agree, we have needed each other to teach this class.  She teaches me proper pronunciation.  I teach her language concepts (prepositions, conjunctions, sentence structure, etc).  I have appreciated this partnership and can see the many benefits this joint effort has brought to the Heritage Academy Spanish experience!
